The season has long passed and we have recieved in excess of 2000 wings, we would like to thank all those who supported the association through the year with information and more importantly with wings.

The ratio of Juvenile to Adult birds based on the wing aging of the supplied wings was as follows: 55.73% Juvenile and 44.27% Adult.

Of the reported woodcock that were flushed 35.24% were shot, this is high figure as it would normally be in the region of 25% to 30% but as there was a greater number of birds than usual this season and this may be the reason.

Overall reports were that a greater number of birds were seen, predominantly in the north of the country, and along the west coast from Donegal to South Galway and Clare. The South West of the country recieved their share of birds later, from early to mid January.

The annual report has just been issued to members and it contains considerable information about the past season. Membership is open to all who have an interest in Woodcock, an application form may be downloaded from the home page, see bottom left of the home page.
